New Luxury Lodges To Be Built In North Yorkshire

Following the boom in UK staycation holidays, as well as the frantic property market and home buyer’s increased interest in rural properties, a new scheme will see luxury lodges being constructed in the heart of North Yorkshire’s countryside, blending bespoke architecture and cutting edge technology.

Insider Media reports that the lodges will be part of a new luxury holiday park development which will be known as Keld Spring. Holiday park developer Actually Parks is working in partnership with consultants Sutton Hospitality to build the scheme, which will consist of 29 lodges in phase one of the development.

Developer Actually Parks has said it will retain a number of the lodges for short stay rentals to take full advantage of the staycation market as people avoid foreign holidays during the pandemic due to uncertainty.

A report by the Resolution Foundation found that, compared to other European countries, the UK will benefit significantly from the switch to staycations, due to the comparatively high proportion of British people holiday who typically holiday abroad and spend far more doing so than overseas tourists spend in the UK.

The majority of the lodges are to be ring-fenced for investors who are looking for an exclusive opportunity for investment or ownership, with a limited number of lodges from phase one of the development now available for purchase.

The lodges are constructed using highly energy-efficient structural insulation and manufactured in the UK by Actually Parks.

Each lodge will be custom designed, aiming to provide maximum flexibility for the layout and interior design options, and will include spacious open-plan living areas, garden veranda rooms, hot tubs, charging points for electric vehicles, smart home integration, and a wireless home sound system as standard.

The lodges will be located at the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and Howardian Hills and look set to offer one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday locations.

Rhodri Andrews, head of marketing at Actually Parks, said: “The UK holiday sector has already experienced major sustained growth in the last couple of years, and it has fast become the rising star of the investment sector. Keld Spring’s hand-finished lodges will grant investors access to this stable and lucrative market.”

Actually Parks is working with industry consultant Sutton Hospitality to deliver the scheme.

Andy Sutton, managing director of Sutton Hospitality, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Actually Parks, who are committed to raising the bar on luxury holiday lodge design and build.”

He said that the joint ethos of innovation and excellence from both companies means that they have collaborated very closely on each and every level of detail, and used their in-house experience to ensure that every lodge in the park will stand out from a variety of perspectives.

“By adopting a future-proofed, sustainable, and ecologically sensitive approach, Keld Spring will be an exciting and totally unique addition to the luxury holiday lodge market in the UK.”
